Get Smart tutoring aims at focusing on improving the quality of education and working closely in line with the national curriculum and the exam boards’ requirements.
What can I expect during the sessions?

Can I get an initial assessment?
You can book an initial assessment it takes 1.5 hours, and it is a complimentary service. This is a very important step in determining your child’s current working levels and will highlight areas of weakness or gaps that may have formed in their learning. The initial assessment outcome will help to devise an individual tuition programme for your child and set up lesson plans.
How is feedback organised at Get Smart tutoring?
After every class, the teacher will present feedback to parents individually, citing notable achievements, as well as any gaps in knowledge that have been identified. Recommendations will be made for work to be completed prior to the next class.
In addition to immediate feedback on every session, progress reports are provided to parents in arranged meetings. Each learner has a folder with a log comprising of wok completed, homework and notes/ comments. These can be viewed at any time by learners/ parents.
Is Homework provided?
Homework is always provided: it is personalised and is given each week to complete at home. Students are encouraged to attempt homework without parental help as this also helps us identify strengths and weaknesses.
Can I get a discount when bringing a friend/ family member?
We offer a referral fee and award £30 gift vouchers. Get Smart offers block tuition discounts and sibling discounts.
Can I pay for lessons on a pay as you go basis?
Lessons are booked half-termly to ensure every student gets a result. Tuition isn’t a quick fix, its about building strong, meaningful relationships that make a difference.
What happens when I miss a lesson?
If you need to change lesson times or postpone, we simply amend the timetable that week and offer a catch-up lesson to replace the lost scheduled time. This way the student doesn’t miss any learning.
If I want to leave Get Smart Tutoring, how does it work?
Two weeks written notice is required by email.
In case I need extra help for my school homework can I ask my tutor to help?
Your child can bring school homework or classwork they don’t understand, which our tutors can help with and alleviate any confusion and pressure.
