Science has enormous content which has to be learnt and the knowledge is applied to real-life situations to get a good understanding of the subject. We help our students to connect their classroom knowledge to the real world which surrounds them.
Our GCSE Science tuition offers experienced and expert tutelage towards relevant scientific practice. Our aim is to enable students to build an appreciation for Science and develop a greater understanding of topics within the three disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. We cover Foundation Science and Triple Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
All exam boards are covered, with the particular subjects for GCSE boards EDEXCEL, OCR and AQA and students work through past papers or structured questions linked to specific topics. At Get Smart we follow the national curriculum requirements and support school study with focus on KS3 and GCSE syllabus requirements.
Students work on individual programmes based on their needs, goals and gaps in their learning.
Every child’s learning is unique to them. At Get Smart we focus on Indivual Learning Plans.
Our teachers encourage students to approach their work proactively addressing the weaknesses first. Therefore, lessons are very much tailored towards students’ individual needs. The students work on individualised lesson plans without a powerful, energetic, and focused learning environment with 4 other students.
Students are taught how to revise efficiently through techniques that suit their individual learning patterns. Whether they are Auditory, Kinesthetic, Visual or respond well to a combination of learning styles at Get Smart we ensure we cater to help students excel quickly and confidently. Occasionally, pupils watch short video clips in support of difficult concepts. Towards exams the focus shifts to working through past papers, exam preparation, and revision of key concepts.
As a parent, you will receive regular feedback after the lesson (for 2-3 minutes individually). This presents an opportunity to discuss your child’s strengths, as well as their targets for improvement.
